Bluebird Care Enfield goes from Strength to Strength in just four years – with their very first customer and their very first carer still with them!
Bluebird Care (Enfield) are so excited to be celebrating their fourth birthday.
Faustina Sackey, Managing Director of Bluebird Care (Enfield) said "We know that in the current economic climate and all the changes in adult social care we are lucky to still be moving from strength to strength. Despite this we still have our very first care worker and our very first customer after four years in business and our client base grows every day.
"In four years we’ve done thousands of visits and have many long serving customers. We know there are many care agencies in Enfield but we pride ourselves in having carers who are professional and treat our customers like they would their own family. Our carers are very committed and will often get very attached to their clients. They work through all weathers and even the recent riots in Tottenham and Enfield did not stop them getting to their customers even though there were road closures and long waits at bus stops.
"We have such a wonderful variety of customers, some fiercely independent and only needing a little help for them to remain so. We also have some very demanding customers who test their carers to the limits but yet they are still with us and welcomed.
"We have recently noticed that some of our clients need a lot more care and would benefit from a health care assistant or a nurse so we have expanded our loyal staff group to include staff who can do this and our carers who are all trained to at least NVQ level 2 are now aiming for NVQ level 3 so that they can take on clients with higher levels of need.
"We look forward to the year ahead and the new challenges that it will bring.
Our First Carer!
Maureen started with Bluebird Care in November 2007 our very first carer visit. Maureen is a highly skilled carer at NVQ level 3 who has continued to develop herself as well as deal with a variety of clients. She was commended for her work by Enfield Council’s Intermediate Care Team on several occasions. Maureen both provides crisis cover for them as well as takes care of direct customers of Bluebird Care (Enfield).
Maureen says” I enjoy working for Bluebird care (Enfield) because I have empathy for the clients and the knowledge and experience to do the work Bluebird care ( Enfield) has encouraged and supported me all the while. I have worked with many other agencies including local authority but I feel the management, communication and the way they care for their staff is better. I have spoken to other carers and they are willing to work for Bluebird Care (Enfield) because of the way they are managed.”
Our First Client
Our very first client is a relatively young man of 41 who has MS. He has a live in carer with an additional carer who comes in during the day to assist. The carers provide personal care some domestic help as well as assisting the client to go out during the day to do shopping and for other activities. He has consistently reported satisfaction with his team of carers in all of his reviews. We are delighted to have been able to continue to provide him with his care package and look forward to another four years with him. He says “Getting carers was a big experience for me. I have wonderful carers who are professional on time and they are all lovely people. I am very happy at the moment with the care that Bluebird Care (Enfield) provides me.”
“I came home on 23 September after a total hip replacement at Stanmore. Every day your ladies came to help me shower dress and put the famous white socks on. All of the girls without exception were kind, efficient, cheerful doing a job which is not exactly the best in the world!! My grateful thanks to each and every one of them. NS”
