Great British Care Home Awards - Winners announced

A great evening was had by all at The Royal Courts Of Justice, when the Great British Care Home Awards 2011 were held. The hall was packed with over 500 people attending to celebrate the great achievements that had taken place over the previous year.

There was lots of entertainment both before and after the awards ceremony, which were hosted and compared by Christopher Biggins.

Choosemycare.com sponsored the Activities Organiser award and were involved in judging both this award and the Care Team award.

The award winners were:

  • The Care Employer Award (over 250 employees) - Ken Nolan of Springhill Care
  • The Care Employer Award (less than 250 employees) - Patrick Atkinson and Wynne Williams, Church Farm Nursing Home
  • The ECCA Care Home Worker Award - Becky Johnson, The Old Vicarage Care Home
  • The Care Newcomer Award - Thomas Bird, Kaylaz Prison Health Care Service
  • The Care Home Registered Manager Award - Deborah Miller, Central London Community Health Care NHS Trust
  • The Nutrition & Hydration Award - Karen Dalton, Lynne Newbury and Christine Carlos, Cumbria Care
  • The Dignity In Care Award - Nora Gazeley, Kingfisher Court Care Home
  • The Demntia Carer Award - Belinda Jones, CLS Care Services
  • The Care Team Award - Angela Rogers, Julie Hughes and Claire Dancer, Park View Nursing Home
  • The Care Home Activity Organiser Award - Jarrow Mason, The Woodlands
  • The Ancillary Worker Award - Ian Hodgson, Accept Care
  • The Care Trainer Award - Andrea Bayston, HICA
  • The Care Innovator Award - Martin Clark, CareConcepts
  • The Putting People First Award - Monica Prosser, Carebase Acorn Court Care Home

 The Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award was awarded to Erica Lockhart of the Surrey Care Association.
