Report exposes the rising number of elderly killed by neglect in care homes

A report commissioned by The Daily Mail as part of their Dignity For The Elderly campaign has shown that between 2005 and 2009 667 residents of care homes in England and Wales have died of Dehydration and a further 157 have died of malnutrition. Super bugs such as C. difficile and MRSA have been the cause of death of nearly 2000 more residents during that time.

The information was produced by the Office of National Statistics after The Daily Mail asked then to analyse the death certificates of residents of care homes in England and Wales between 2005 and 2009.
