Comprehensive Spending Review

The government has now announced it's comprehensive spending review and although there are major cuts in government spending, there was some good news with the announcement of an additional £2bn allocated to Social Care over the time covered by the spending review which is from April 2011 - March 2015.

David Behan, Director General, Social Care, Local Government and Care Partnerships has written to Directors of Adult Social Services laying out the implications of the Spending Review settlement for social care and the letter can be found here on the Department of Health website.

Sir David Nicholson, NHS Chief Executive has written to NHS Chief Executives, Chairs and Directors of Finance to lay out the implications of the Spending Review settlement for the NHS and this letter can also be found here at the Department of Health website.
