Diane Martin wins the Somerset Care Going The Distance Award

Diane Martin, Community Services Manager for Echoes Community Care in Havant, was recently awarded the Going the Distance Award 2011. The award was presented at this year’s Christmas managers meeting held at the County Cricket Club on Thursday 15th December 2011.

Echoes Community Care gave Diane the award as they said she and her team had gone above and beyond their duties, organising various events and fundraising for the community. 

Speaking on the achievement Diane said: 

“I’m so happy to have been presented with this award, it’s a great achievement and I wouldn’t have been able to get here without the support of my team.”

The Going the Distance Award was originally introduced to thank staff members that were able to provide extra help in the extreme weather conditions we have had over the past few years. More recently it was decided that anyone seen to be going above and beyond their duties could be nominated for this award.
